Laplander is an all-steel, semi trad narrowboat built in 2005 by Liverpool Boats and fitted out by her owner. Propulsion is provided by an Isuzu Diesel engine with PRM gearbox and twin alternators. She benefits from both a stern pram cover and cratch cover. The layout is traditional, entering from the stern takes you in to the bedroom which currently incorporates 2 fixed bunk beds and a large storage cupboard. As you move forward we find an off-corridor style bathroom. This is the first of 2 bathrooms, this one featuring a Thetford Swivel cassette toilet, ceramic hand basin, quadrant shower, storage cupboard and a heated towel rail. Forward of this is a raised Pullman style dinette which offers a good amount of storage space in the seating and underfloor and also converts into a double berth. Next is the second of the 2 bathrooms. This one being smaller with just a Thetford cassette toilet, storage cupboard and hand basin. We then come to the ‘U’ shaped galley. This is equipped with a stainless, inset sink and drainer, freestanding gas oven, grill & hob, fridge with freezer compartment and storage by way on under counter and overhead cupboards. At the front of the cabin is the saloon. An open area at the start allows space for freestanding furniture but a fold out table is incorporated onto the hull side. Forward of the this are 2 bench seats which offer storage underneath and also convert into a double berth. The saloon also features the solid fuel stove and a wall mounted TV. Bow doors then lead out on to the well deck which benefits from a cratch cover.
