This Prout event was supplied as hulls with interior bunk and heads mouldings in place and then it was finished to a high standard by the original owner who was a shipwright.
Moulded in 1992 but not launched until 1996.
There is lots of lovely wood and the galley is fitted the other way around so the hob is set facing inwards rather than Prout’s preference of siting this under the starboard side window. This works very well and makes the galley a lot more sociable as you are facing the people you are cooking for!
A lovely boat that has been extensively refitted in my ownership.
In 2017 I quit my job and sailed this boat around the UK over a period of 8 months which quite simply was the best thing I have ever done!
She is blissfuly easy to sail single handed as I have done throughout 90% of my ownership but she will also carry a full crew with ease and comfort.
Whilst sailing this boat I have never ever been in a situation where I felt anything but safe and secure. She is always sure footed and predictable. A solid, forgiving and reliable sea boat which has looked after me faultlessly.
My plans were to go further afield but that has now changed to make way for a new project.
In order to minimise surprises, the following is what I see as jobs that the new owner will / might want to carry out.
Wind instrument requires a new masthead sensor or maybe its just a dodgy connection but I have never felt the need to rely on a wind instrument so I haven’t sorted this out.
The port forward window has a small crack and in my opinion should be replaced.
Webasto heater is currently out for a service
Other than that and apart from any polishing and fettling that any new owner might want to get in to, this is a very ship shape boat that I will miss greatly. All the major and expensive things have been done and I sincerely hope that someone who wants to use this boat extensively will buy her and do just that.
I know this boat inside out so I am extremely happy to answer any questions that you may have.
