Wittholz designed Cat Boat. All wood (cedar strips), Length 11ft, Beam 5ft 5ins. Sail Area approx 80 sq.ft. Gaff Rig. Wooden Mast (13' 2"), Wooden Boom (9'8"), Wooden Gaff (9'8"). Deck level blocks all wood. Gaff blocks akin to modern dinghy types. Sail by James Lawrence of Brightlingsea, Essex.
Rainandsun Hydralite overboom cover in grey with deep skirts. Hull has been epoxied inside and out. Rudder/transom fixings are in brass.

This is a project which has been in the same ownership for the last 20years. fter she fell over and damaged her topsides he decided to take her on . after much restoration work to her hull. she was actually re floated, 2008. She was then taken out of the water and transported to her current site which is inside a workshop/ shed at home.
All equipment and gear taken out of her has been retained.
There are still many man hours required, a "labour of love" is required to get her back into commission.... read more

Dorothea, 27ft Gaff Yawl built along the lines of the West country Falmouth Quay Punts. 27ft 3ins. hull length 5.66 tons registered weight. Built and designed by W.E.Thomas of Falmouth in 1909. Carvel planked Pitch Pine on Oak.
Part of her provenance was a previous owner being Mr Trafford Leigh-Mallory in the 1920's , he was in charge of the 12 group in the Battle of Britain and the UK and American Forces at the time of the Normandy Landings.
She underwent a major restoration 12-14 years ago.

Mary Bryant is one of the best-known gaff-rigged schooners in British waters.
She was built in Fowey, Cornwall, during 1980-81.
Her accommodation offers: 1 double berth and six single berths all 6ft 6ins in length. Generous headroom throughout of 6ft 6ins.
The first owner, Mike Johnson, was closely involved in her building her and recorded this in a series of articles in the Practice Boat Owner.
